Membership is open to individuals and organisations interested in developing cooperatives. By joining Cooperation Africa members will gain:
Access to:
- Resources and databases on legislation
- Examples of different cooperative models
- Films about cooperatives on the internet
- Books, documents, and reports about cooperatives from around the world
Opportunities to:
- Participate in members-only events such as: film club, book club, cooperative touring club, and study circles.
- Be supported to start your own cooperative business be it in the primary, agricultural, manufacturing or service sectors.
- Conduct research into cooperative formation and development in Africa, in partnership with other members of the network.
- Invest in country-level cooperative financing and development institutions.
- Educate and train others seeking to form or develop cooperatives across the continent.
- Provide professional services to cooperative businesses and the wider cooperative development movement.
- Promote economic justice by helping to build sustainable livelihoods through democratically owned and managed cooperatives.
Membership Rules for Organisational Membership of CA:
- Eligibility: Any registered business/organisation that is willing to adhere to and promote the objectives of CA. It does not have to be a cooperative.
- Fees: based on income.
